"Enchanting," The Light in the Piazza at Marist

"Enchanting is the only way to describe The Light in the Piazza...While speaking only Italian, Robert Kalman manages to perfectly convey the irascible and goading older brother attitudes of his character, Giuseppe Naccarelli. A highlight of the evening is his 'American Dancing,' a bit of elderly advice given entirely in Italian."

'Battlecry' heartwarming, memorable

"Witnessing the debut of a brand new musical is a thrilling experience, and
Quill Entertainment's production of 'Battlecry' does not disappoint...leading
the cast are Lauren Ford as Amelia and Robert Kalman as Frank...their duet
of 'Almost Home' truly captures their love and longing for the things that
they miss. Both of these performers pour their hearts into every song with
their impressive and beautiful voices."

'Battlecry!' reprise

"I still had chills during several songs. The first was one of [Robert Kalman]'s solos, he sings about heading into Gettysburg. It builds slowly with more and more cast adding their voices."

- Adrienne Lawrence, Friday, July 24, 2009

'1776' cast is equal to the historic challenge

"...Almost without exception, the cast is first-rate...as Thomas Jefferson,
Robert Kalman
suavely exhibits mens sana in copore sano (sound mind in a sound body)...This '1776' may be a little late for a Fourth of July celebration,
but such a winning production would be welcome any day of the year."

In review: "Annie Get Your Gun"

"...I can see Robert Kalman, who delivered a focused and vocally impressive performance as Frank Butler, playing any number of romantic leading men..."

"Annie" on target at Pines Dinner Theatre

"But we all know it's the singer, not the song and...Robert Kalman in the leading male role of Frank Butler has the smooth good looks and a Nelson Eddy voice that booms out over the audience."

- Paul Willistein

Theater Review: Pines looking good in "Plaid"

"...Robert Kalman, as Smudge, wears Buddy Holly glasses, making him the Plaid’s resident nerd…There are so many stand-out renditions among this guy vocal group, it’s difficult to single out one performer, as each has several spotlight solo numbers. But we’ll note two that are especially memorable: Owen on 'Cry,' and Kalman on 'Sixteen Tons'/ 'Chain Gang...' "
